Thanksgiving Success

It was another successful and enjoyable weekend with the family in TC. Seeing my sister and brother was definitely the icing on the cake! It has been way too long since we all have gotten together.

Wednesday evening we celebrated Christmas. The children loved their gifts and continued to play with them all weekend. One of the coolest presents my children received was The Night Before Christmas book recorded by my parents for us to enjoy. Noelle and Max love hearing Grandma and Grandpa's voices over and over. I love my parents very much, but it is kind of creepy hearing them talking in the other room! Every morning and night since we have been home the kids request the book, along with multiple times during the day.

Thanksgiving Day was filled with much cooking, including a very large turkey and the use of 15 sticks of butter! Noelle had her hand in certain dishes, but was best at being the taste tester. My Mom cooked tons of delicious food and we all filled up on it around 2pm while watching the Lions loose.

A little drama was needed and Noelle provided it. She was told not to climb on the back of the couch and she didn't listen. She fell, of course, hit the tile hard and her glasses cut her eye. She probably needed a few stitches but we thought the trauma of going in wasn't worth it. It wasn't serious of a cut but it was bleeding pretty good and it will leave a nice scar. She can point it out and always remember Thanksgiving 2009!

Friday we were all a bit restless and needed to get out of the house. Tom and I took the kids to a local hands on museum. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised by the set up and the enjoyment our children had. Since it usually is cold and rainy when we visit this was a great find in our arsenal of things to keep the kids busy.

We left Saturday morning and probably had the longest drive home ever for us. We hit traffic right at Ann Arbor and had to take a long detour, combined with a long lunch stop and another bathroom break, it was a very intense drive!

Today, Monday, Tom, Max, Violette and I have fevers and are not doing well. Good thing the sickness held off during the Holiday weekend!

Sorry you're not feeling well and had a long drive home, but your time in T.C. sounds like it was perfect. I'm so glad you were able to get your entire side of the family together and celebrate. When everyone can be there, it makes it that much more special. Poor Noelle with her eye too. She's a trooper!
