Daddy's Boy

Maximilian is a Daddy's Boy through and through. All the children have great affection for their Daddy, but Max has the greatest. I am lucky that I can stay at home all the time with the children. Because of this I'm perfectly content with Max's great infatuation with Tom. I do believe that if he was in daycare I would be jealous of his constant need for Tom. By the time Daddy walks through the door I'm more than pleased to hand over the torch for Max care. I love it when he only wants Daddy to change his diaper, not a bad deal for me!

Today Noelle came down with another high fever and she fell asleep on the couch. Violette went down for a nap and Max was napping. He soon woke up, only after about 3o mins., in a completely foul mood. I took him into our bed to snuggle so that he would not wake up Noelle. Max was screaming for Daddy and wouldn't even let me hold him. He insisted, "I snuggle Daddy's spot". When Tom isn't around his spot in bed is even better than me! We both fell asleep for a bit and every time I tried to hold his hand he belted out, "No, only Daddy hold my hand."

This week we had an electrician come in to finish up some electrical work in the basement. Tom would go downstairs to assist the electrician. I tried to keep Max away but he screamed for Daddy. His pitch gets so high that it rivals and surpasses Noelle on most occasions! While downstairs his little hands got into everything that was tool related. It amazes us how he seeks out screws, wires, and everything he shouldn't touch just because Tom touches it. When the electrician, Josh, did something Max would relay the information to us. "Guy hammering", "Guy working down there", "Guy drilling", we tried to get him to address the "Guy" by his name, but to no avail. Every time we would head upstairs I tried to follow Max and he would say, "No Daddy do!". Max doesn't even want me to walk up the stair behind him! Every moment, even the simple act of walking behind him has to be met by Tom.
He does have a large amount of sweetness in him still for me. He has been proclaiming his love for us numerous times throughout the day. "I love you so much Mommy" or "I love you big as the moon Mommy (Violette Adelle, or Noelle)" constantly comes out of his sweet little mouth. There is nothing like that to just melt your heart!

His sweetness quickly turns sour. He loves to sit on Violette all the time. It started out with her giggling at him one time, but has elevated to riding her as she crawls or he pushes her down and lays on her belly then tries desperately to try and make her laugh. I don't have to write it, but Violette ends up in tears! Max's new love is spitting whatever he is drinking. Usually he spits juice and we find multiple sticky surfaces around the house. When I catch him he tries to immediately apologize, "I'm so sorry Mommy. I love you so much."

Tom loves all the attention and looks forward to spending much time with his little boy.

I do love Max, but I'll leave the boys to you. I don't think I have the energy. Your Max stories always bring a smile to my face!
