The girls cheered with excitement when I told them about it. Noelle and Violette talked about the dresses they wanted to wear and practiced dancing to the continuous music played in the house over the next few weeks. Violette realized she needed a new dress. At the store she got very serious as her eyes inspected the selection of dresses. I held up one after another and she delicately touched the fabric, tested each dress by holding it up to her. After awhile I lined a few choices up and stood back. She took this very seriously and finally settled on a dress dotted with butterflies. She was happy.
Saturday came. The girls were filled with excitement. This was a big deal. They decided they wanted me to curl their hair. I wrapped their delicate hair around the wand and released ringlet after ringlet on both of their heads. Noelle got very impatient, but Violette wanted me to keep going even after finishing the final curl. We applied a small amount of shimmering eye shadow and a bit of lipstick. Then the dresses were put on. Twirl upon twirl erupted from the girls as soon as the last button was done on the dresses. They brought instant smiles to Tom and I as we proudly watched our girls. Finally they posed for some pictures.
Our neighbors attended too and this is a cute picture of the four girls
After filling themselves up with sweet blue ice cream with sprinkles and marshmallows, the boys declared they were not ready to go home and wanted to go to a store. I instantly knew a Meijer trip would not do it for these two high energy boys so I drove to Tractor Supply Co. That was just the place for them. They each picked our a tractor and explored the store, and climbed on some ATV's. They were in heaven.
We arrived home only a short bit before Tom and the girls. They were filled with many stories and smiles of the night. Definitely a memory maker and success! They are already talking about next year.

I'm so glad your girls and Tom got to experience a Daddy Daughter Dance! Why didn't they have them when I was a kid. Our girls are both eager for this year's special night as well, but it's not for a couple more weeks yet. I love Violette's attitude that exudes in her picture with her hand on her hip. And good for you for taking the boys out that night as well. Sounds like a fun evening for all involved! Oh, and yes, we'll have to get together real soon!
